Both me and MarLee agree, that while he didn’t mature with the relationship… She, like a lot of people in relationships, looked past the things she new that would not have lasting power… Expecting him to change, or, as in most cases, that she could change him. Hell, I did it in my last relationship… That did not end well. Should he have grown the fuck up? Probably. But I don’t see anything wrong with working a job just to pay the bills do you can have money and come home and spend time with the 2 lives of your life. Not entirely siding with Ryan’s character, but it was kind of selfish of her to project on him. SHE wasn’t happy with where HE was… So it’s automatically his fault. I say they are both to blame. Time for him to grow up, time for her to stop being selfish. If 1 person in a relationship isn’t happy, or they are both on different pages… It’s time to call it quits. It’s unfair to both parties. In the case of this movie, she should have told him that she couldn’t be with someone who would not “grow” with her. And he should have told her that he couldn’t be with someone who couldn’t accept what made him happy. Why in Blue Valentine does she decide not to love balding Ryan Gosling anymore, though?
Can someone tell me something I never caught on to?
Point out where he went wrong?
I feel like all her unhappiness and revelations were…
